District 6080 Governor - Mike Beahon, Fulton, Missouri
Mike Beahon

Remembering District Governor Mike Beahon

Rotary District 6080 Governor Mike Beahon passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014.

Mike served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Mary Ann Eggers June 6, 1970, and they had one daughter, Kelly Kathleen Keller.

Mike joined the Fulton Rotary Club in 1995 and was president during 2010-11. He was Fulton Rotarian of the Year in 2011-12, a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Show Me Rotary PETs Planning Council. Mike was installed as District Governor for Rotary District 6080 on June 27, 2014.

Mike joined the Jaycees in Columbia, MO in 1972. Moving to Kansas, he served as local president, regional director, state president and national vice president. He was hired by Jaycees (Junior Chamber) International in Coral Gables, FL in 1980 and served as area director for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He later spent nearly two years as managing director of Africana Breweries in Ibadan, Nigeria.

The Beahons returned to Missouri in 1995 and purchased Sir Winston’s Restaurant & Pub in Fulton.

In addition to Rotary, Mike was actively involved in the Rwanda Community Partnership and made two trips to Rwanda. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, a former chair of the Callaway County Tourism Board and a former member of the Fulton Area Development Corporation Board of Directors.

In addition to his wife of 44 years, Mike is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Kris Keller; his granddaughters, Brooklyn and Lillian; as well as his beloved dogs.

I knew Mike for less than three years, when he became District Governor Nominee. In that short time I saw the leadership, dedication and love for Rotary that Mike had. He was SERVICE ABOVE SELF. I am honored to have known Mike and able to call him my friend.
