Rotary Accomplishments

  • Raymond first joined Rotary in 1968.
  • He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Chilton, Wisconsin; the Rotary Club of Athens, Georgia; the Rotary Club of Bondi Junction, New South Wales, Australia; the Rotary Club of Fayetteville, Arkansas and the Rotary Club of Columbia South, Missouri.
  • He was named a Will Watt Fellow at the Rotary Club of Athens, Georgia recognizing his support and contribution to the Georgia Rotary Student Program in sponsoring more than 80 foreign students to attend the University of Georgia.
  • In 1985 Raymond was named a Paul Harris Fellow at the Rotary Club of Athens, Georgia recognizing his support and contribution to Rotary's Polio eradication program.
  • He has supported the naming of all members of his family including grandchildren, as Paul Harris Fellows.
  • He has supported the naming of Paul Harris Fellows on four continents showing his involvement in the fellowship and internationality of Rotary International.
  • Raymond was named Rotarian of the Year in 1995 by the Rotary Club of Bondi Junction, New South Wales, Australia and Rotarian of the Year in 2003 by the Rotary Club of Columbia South, Missouri.
  • He is very active as President of The International Fellowship of Motorcycling Rotarians-North-American Chapter, having participated in the Arizona and Nevada Desert Rides sponsored by the California Rotary Chapter in 2002 and 2006 and in September 2003 he was Group Leader for 22 motorcycling Rotarians from seven countries as they toured Canada, New England and the Mid-Atlantic states. Raymond organized and lead the 2005 'Wild West Posse Ride', a group of 24 motorcycling Rotarians from five different nations as they toured the 'old west' of America. In 2007 he organized a 15 day international ride touring the Rocky Mountain west and attending the Rotary International Convention in Salt Lake City. He rode in the International 'Great Lakes-Great Times' ride around our Great Lakes in 2008. He rode the England/Scotland tour following the RI convention in Birmingham, England, 2009.
  • He is active in attending Rotary District Conferences including twelve since he has lived in Missouri. He has attended nine Rotary International Conventions; Indianapolis, Indiana, San Antonio, Texas, Brisbane, Australia, Osaka, Japan, Chicago, Illinois, Copenhagen, Denmark/Malmo, Sweden, Salt Lake City, Utah, Los Angeles, California and Birmingham, England.
  • Raymond was the District 6080 'On To' Chairman 2002-2003 '03-'04, '04-'05, '05-'06, '06-'07and '07-'08. He generated excitement for 32 District 6080 Rotarians to register and attend the Convention in Brisbane, Australia.
  • Raymond was a member in 1999 of the Rotary Friendship Exchange from old Missouri District 6050 to District 9570, Queensland, Australia. He was the Team Leader in 2001of the Rotary Friendship Exchange from Missouri District 6080 to District 9250 in Kwa-Zulu-Natal Province, South Africa. He was the Team Leader for the Rotary Friendship Exchange between Rotary Districts 6080 and 9930 in New Zealand February and March 2007.
  • Raymond was the Rotarian Team Leader of the District 6080 Group Study Exchange Team to District 3130, Maharashtra State, India during January 2004. Raymond supported the naming of all four GSE Team members as Paul Harris Fellows at the 2004 District Conference.
  • Raymond participated in two National Immunization Days in India vaccinating children with polio vaccine on 04 January and 22 February 2004.
  • Raymond received the Rotary International 'Commitment to Service' award in 2005.
  • Raymond has served the club level as Director, Treasurer, Secretary, President-elect and in 2006-2007 as President.
  • Raymond is a charter member of the Bequest Society of the Rotary International Foundation Permanent Fund.
  • He and his wife, Vickie are Major Donors to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International currently at the four diamond level.
  • Raymond and Vickie have funded the Dr. Raymond E. and Vickie L. Plue Endowment within The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International Permanent Fund.
  • Raymond has served as Trainer at the Missouri Show-Me President-Elect and Secretary-Elect training sessions.
