District Governor
Sherry Nielsen is a native of the Kansas City area. She has lived at the Lake of the Ozarks with Jim, her husband for over 30 years, and has a teenage son, Sean. She earned a BA in History from William Jewell College and a Master’s in education from the University of Missouri. She was a social studies teacher for 12 years, Broker/Owner of Nielsen Realty for 7 years and in 1991 began her current vocation as a State Farm Agent. In 1996 she became a Charter Member of the Laurie-Sunrise Beach Rotary Club. She was the club’s first International Committee Chair and has hosted three Youth Exchange Students. During her year as President her club completed construction of a four-lane indoor pool for their community. Sherry has served on the district Ambassadorial Scholar, District Conference Planning, and Youth Exchange committees. She and her husband are Paul Harris Fellows. She is also a charter member and Charter Year Chair of the 6080 Paul Harris Society, and Bequest Society member.
