Rotary Friendship Exchange

August 2, 2008

Dear District 6080 Rotarians,

Sugarloaf Mountain….fabulous beaches…..Christ the Redeemer statue…beautiful botanical gardens….friendly people…Sound like fun?  If so, think about joining the District 6080 Rotary Friendship Exchange with District 4750 in Brazil in early 2009.  A team of 8-10 from our district will travel to Brazil for about 14 days and then in June 2009, a similar team from District 4750 will visit us.

The exchange is open to all Rotarians in District 6080 and their spouses. The General RFE Guidelines and the RFE Application Form are posted below. If you are interested in participating in a Friendship Exchange, please read this information and if you applying, you can fill out the application and return it to me by e-mail or US mail.

If you would like more information, please email me at keckeley@att.net.    I would like to get all applications by September 15th in order to get a team in place, make travel arrangements and meet together a few times before we make our trip.

The purpose of the RFE is to foster friendship between two districts and that includes not only the participants but also the other members of the club.  Outbound members need to be able to serve as hosts, along with their club, for 3-4 days when our inbound members are in our district.

In addition to the exchange to Brazil, District Governor Sherry has agreed to allow another RFE if anyone has an interest in arranging it.  She suggests that it be with a country where the team leader already has a contact in order to facilitate the exchange.  If you are interested in pursuing another exchange, please contact me and I will help coordinate the exchange and the participants.
